To call the 2020 summit anything but a show is an insult. As far as partisan politics go the 2020 was a show with all the trimmings.
Shows are meant to please the masses and this was a Kevin Rudd masterpiece. I have no doubt about him loading the groups with Labor sympathisers and assorted arse kissers; any number of lefties, workies, greenies, smokies, dopies, geeks, homos, stuffed shirts, bible bashers, wife bashers, party crashers, writers, cleaners, blockers, fatties, yuppies, trippies, nasties, nazis, wogs, knobs, surfies, wharvies, Lebbos, Seppos, yobbos and the odd Liberal disguised as a John Butler Trio fan would’ve slipped the net.
Did it achieve anything? Yes it did. It gave everyone something to talk about and a dimension to Rudd’s tenure that Howard’s lacked. Watch Rudd flash his 2020 credentials when he gets cornered on a pressing issue.
